There are many ways to earn money through crypto without having any money. I’ll be going over what exactly a Whitelist (WL) spot is.
One of the most popular ways to make a lot of money through NFTs is grinding for whitelist spots. Projects most often have an exclusive list that is not easy to get on. However! You can earn whitelist (wl) spots very easily.
You can make thousands of dollars grinding for spots! Recently, a project on the Solana chain called Elixir had a free mint. Getting on that list made people an easy USD 1000. It has a current price around USD 1700 per each NFT.
NFT projects often use this list to collect wallet addresses. And they send people a token that allows them to purchase a picture on their release day. You can sell those tokens on a website called Famous Fox Federation: https://famousfoxes.com/tokenmarket.
Obtaining Whitelist
These are the most common ways to obtain spots.
- Be inside a blue chip DAO (decentralized autonomous organization). Well-established projects have people whose job is to seek new projects and ask them for whitelist spots for their community. Upon agreement, they will settle upon a collab called either: FCFS (First Come First served) or a Raffle. The first one requires participants to follow their Twitter and Retweet a post with a screenshot proving they are a holder of the project.
- Fan Art: Projects love having talented people in their community. You can draw, create websites, write blog articles, make songs, or something else!
- Playing games: Click on the names of them to play a couple of rounds! Projects usually give out a lot of spots this way. You can play: Poker, Stumble, LOL Beans, Guess the number, Trivia, Smashkarts, Garlic, and Rumble
- Twitter/Discord Giveaways: This usually involves a retweet or entering a contest in a Google form or a giveaway bot that you have to react to.
- Raffles: A lot of projects have websites where you can purchase a ticket for a whitelist spot.
- Applications: Recently, a project called yOOts had tens of thousands of people apply for their whitelist! It was the most genius marketing rolled out by a project. The project is currently sitting around a USD 1700 floor price right now.
- Talent shows: Preform a poem or a song in their Discord!
Selling Whitelist
Some whitelist spots sell for thousands. Some sell for pennies, it all depends on the demand.
Step 1: Obtain whitelist spot.
Step 2: Submit wallet. It can be through a third-party website such as Magic Eden or Mercury. It can also be a Google form! Each project is different, ask around to learn how you can do it. Once you receive the role in Discord or learn that you won a spot through a giveaway you can sell it.

Final Thoughts
Obtaining WL can be easy and challenging. The most prominent projects make it much harder to obtain a spot to mint. Prominent projects give out less spots to NFT projects but if you obtain a ‘Bluechip’ NFT like Mad Labs it becomes easier.
Additionally, it may be hard to find a buyer. Some buyers are scammers too, over the counter deals are dangerous. If selling WL requires giving up your private keys to your crypto wallet, then I would caution against it. Once someone has your private keys, they can access all corresponding wallets associated to that private address and steal everything. Most times it is easier to just mint the project and then sell the NFT on a legitimate website like Magiceden.io
